VOTING ABROAD - GENERAL INFORMATION
U.S. citizens living abroad who want to participate in the 2008 primary elections have a number of options.
Federal Voting Assistance Program: http://www.fvap.gov/
On this site, voters can print out forms, which must be filled out and mailed to county election officials using their last U.S. address. If the mail is unreliable in the country of residence, voters should check with the U.S. Embassy to see if drop service is available. County election officials will then return the ballot by mail.
Voters who do not receive their ballots at least two weeks before their state's scheduled primary should contact the FVAP, the State Department says. In most states, voters who do not receive their ballots on time can vote by federal write-in absentee ballot.
