Beijing Olympics & Paralympics Foreign Volunteer Application Period Ends March 31, 2008

According to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), the final opportunity to apply to be a foreign volunteer for the Olympics or Paralympics ends on Monday, March 31, 2008.

Interested applicants should visit http://www.ebeijing.gov.cn/html/EV.htm  to apply ASAP.

Once all applications have been received by BOCOG, they will be sent to the selection committee for processing.  Those applicants who make the priority list will be contacted for in person interviews here in China or in the United States, depending on where the applicant currently resides.  Applicants in the United States will be contacted by the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Successful candidates will be notified via e-mail from BOCOG in late May.

Applicants should have realistic expectations.  Volunteer positions are limited; competition is intense.  BOCOG will select 70,000 for the Olympic Games and 30,000 for the Paralympics, of which most volunteers have been selected from the local Chinese population.

Good luck!
