Press Release

American Mountaineers Missing in China

"Authorities in southwestern China are currently searching for two internationally famous American mountain climbers, Mr. Charles Fowler (age 52) and Ms. Christine Feld-Boskoff (age 39), who were last heard from in early November in Litang, Sichuan Province. It is believed they were planning to climb one or more 6,000+ meter peaks either in Sichuan or Yunnan before departing China in early December.  Areas where they may have traveled include Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan Province (Kangding, Litang and Batang areas) and Diqin Prefecture in Yunnan province. Anyone with information that may help to locate Mr. Fowler and Ms. Feld-Boskoff is encouraged to contact local authorities, the U.S. Consulate General, Chengdu at 028-8558-3992, or the U.S. Embassy in Beijing at 010-6532-3431."
