I am a U.S. citizen who wants to go to China on a Fulbright
Each year we have scholarship opportunities for up to 100 U.S. citizens to qualify for Fulbright Grants. We have the following Fulbright programs for U.S. Scholars and students:
U.S. Lecturer Program
The Fulbright Lecturer program supports approximately 15 U.S. Lecturers (who apply through and whose grants are managed through CIES) to come to China to teach courses. In addition to teaching responsibilities, U.S. Lecturers advise students, work closely with Chinese faculty and enrich the American Studies programs of participating universities. At the same time, Lecturers also learn more about China, its people, and its culture so that they may return to the United States better able to teach others about China.
U.S. Researcher Programs
The Fulbright Program supports roughly 60-70 U.S. Researchers in China each year, including both U.S. Student Program grantees (who apply through and whose grants are managed by IIE) and Senior Research Scholars (who apply through and whose grants are managed through CIES). Selected candidates carry out independent research projects in close collaboration with a Chinese academic host institution, which approves the project and sponsors the visa.
