The Ambassador’s IPR Dialogue

November 10, 2010

AMBASSADOR JON M. HUNTSMAN'S
IPR DIALOGUE
"IPR BEST PRACTICES IN PUBLIC AWARENESS AND ENFORCEMENT"

US Ambassador Jon Huntsman and AmCham-China are pleased to announce the first annual IPR Dialogue, scheduled for November 10 at the Peninsula Hotel in Beijing's Wangfujing area.  The forum provides IP stakeholders and government officials an opportunity to build a positive, collaborative dialogue on how best to strengthen IPR protections.

This year, the discussion will feature three panels:

  •  “Best Practices in IPR Enforcement” will highlight presentations by foreign-invested and Chinese firms which have been able to successfully protect their product’s IPR in this highly competitive market environment.
  • “Addressing the Online Challenge” will feature speakers discussing the challenges of protecting intellectual property on the web.
  •  “Protecting Patients from Counterfeit Medicines: Increasing Awareness and Education” will focus on the importance of raising awareness of the dangers of counterfeit pharmaceuticals .

Participation will be limited to 150 people in order to ensure an active dialogue among attendees.   Special emphasis will be placed on generating concrete ideas that can inform and advance the work of U.S. and Chinese businesses.

Registration will cover attendance at the Dialogue on November 10 and includes a networking lunch.
