The IRC maintains a book collection of over 3,000 volumes focused primarily on American studies. The IRC is constantly adding new titles to its collection. CQ Researcher online reports have also been added to our collection catalog.

The IRC has access to major online databases in the United States: Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO), CQ Researcher, The Digital National Security Archive (DNSA), ProQuest. Staff can also search many more databases for you, including Factiva and Lexis-Nexis.

The IRC subscribes to approximately 100 periodicals in paper, covering a wide range of subject areas.

CQ Researcher offers in-depth, non-biased reports of political and social issues, with regular reports on topics in health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy.

Microfilms (Diplomatic Documents)
The IRC houses the complete microfilm set of U.S. National Archives holdings of dispatches from U.S. diplomatic posts in China from 1790 to 1944.

eJournal USA
Electronic journals from the Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) offer in-depth information on issues critical to U.S. foreign affairs and on U.S. society and culture. They include authoritative policy statements by senior U.S. government officials, commentary by private sector and academic apecialists, and articles by U.S. citizens, from celebrities to teenagers. IIP publishes five topical editions: Economic Perspectives, U.S. Foreign Policy Agenda, U.S. Society & Values, Global Issues, and Issues of Democracy.
