PLEASE ENSURE YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR A U.S. VISA IS 8-10 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR INTENDED TRAVEL DATE
Interest in travel to America continues to grow, and we expect an extraordinary peak application period this summer. We look forward to welcoming qualified visitors to our country for tourism, business, study, cultural and other purposes. As you plan for your trips to the United States, we encourage you to plan ahead to allow us enough time to process your visa before your trip. We recommend that travelers make their appointment early and interview at least eight to ten weeks before they plan to travel. This will ensure that we have time to conduct your interview, review your application, and determine whether we can issue you a visa. Thank you for your cooperation, and for your interest in visiting our country.
We strongly encourage students to contact the Visa Information Call Center immediately at 4008-872-333 (calling within China) or (86-21) 3881-4611 (either calling from China or from overseas) to book an appointment on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students who cannot get an appointment 8-10 weeks before their program start date should send a fax to (86-10) 6532-3178 requesting an earlier interview appointment. There is no fee for requesting an expedited appointment. Please see the following webpage for instructions and further details on applying for an expedited appointment: http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn/niv_expedite.html.
