RELO Outreach Trip to Ulaanbaatar

RELO Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia visit, March 3-7, 2008

U.S. Embassy’s PAS (RELO) is working to implement a policy development for the English language teaching in Mongolia. Today one of the most crucial issues of English language learning in Mongolia is a training of the highly qualified English language teachers. The US Embassy in Mongolia pays great attention to this issue. In this framework the English language department of the University of Humanities together with PAS (RELO) of US Embassy organized a three day training conference for the high level English language teachers of Universities and colleges in Mongolia. This event aimed to develop the modern teaching technology, improve its quality and influence, and upgrade teacher’s skills and techniques. Mr. Damon Anderson, from US Embassy in China in charge of the English language program in Mongolia-China guided this training. Teachers of English language from University of Humanities, MTU, and NUM, AU and other private and public school teachers attended this training. PAS and Regional English Language Department issued a certificate for those who attended. It was agreed that University of Humanities will cooperate with this section for further events and programs in order to improve English teaching in Mongolia.
