US Foreign Policy Agenda

	American Internationalism "Our Nation's cause has always been larger than our Nation's defense. We fight, as we always fight, for a just peace, a peace that favors liberty. We will defend the peace against the threats from terrorists and tyrants. We will preserve the peace by building good relations among the great powers. And we will extend the peace by encouraging free and open societies on every continent. Building this just peace is America's duty."
	Protecting Lives, Restoring Livelihoods: The US Program to Remove Landmines Across the globe, from Afghanistan to Zambia, the United States and several other governments, private organizations, and the United Nations are generously providing humanitarian mine action assistance to many of the over 60 countries that are affected by persistent landmines.
	Improving Lives: Military Humanitarian and Assistance Programs Humanitarian assistance and foreign military training are valuable means of building constructive, long-term relationships across the globe: partnerships that encourage stability in regions faced with unique challenges.
