VOA Scholarship Program: Journalism/ Media Studies

Institute of International Education (IIE) China Office is pleased to announce a full scholarship program designed for bachelor degree holders interested in attending a one-year non-degree graduate program at American University. The scholarship is provided by The Voice of America (VOA), which first went on the air in 1942, is a multimedia international service broadcasting more than 1,000 hours of news, information, educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated worldwide audience of more than 115 million people in 45 languages.

Areas of Study: Journalism/Media Studies

Award Types: Full scholarship

Open to Students from: China

Number of Awards: Two

Award Duration: One academic year

Program: non-degree graduate coursework in the School of Communication at American University, as well as professional development activities.

Eligibility Requirements:
Permanent resident of China; Must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study in the U.S.; Receive a bachelor degree before June 2008. Open to Chinese students only.
Documents to be submitted: Bachelor degree certificate

  • English Proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
  • Two letters of reference
  • Official academic records /transcripts
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Application Form (also can be downloaded from www.iie-china.org)

Application deadline: February 15, 2008
